3. Understand some connotation of some food such as: sweet dumplings, zongzi, moon cake, dumplings.

Teaching procedure:

Step one Warm –up

1. Sing a song: What do you have for lunch?

2. The report of the survey:

What do you have for lunch/breakfast/dinner…

(Teaching intention: Firstly: Make the students be interested in English by singing a song.)

Step Two. Presentation

(1)Preview

Listen to the tape of ‘Let’s try’; Let the Ss have a general idea of this part. Finish the exercise of the part.

(2)Let’s try & Let’s talk

a. Teacher will use the important sentences pattern; Let the Ss do the exercise. And listen to the tape for several time, give a deep impression of the new sentences pattern.

b. What would you like for lunch? --- What do you have for lunch today?

(Slowly—quickly---more quickly)

c. Have a student to come to the front of the classroom. Answer to the following question:

“What do you like for lunch today?” “What about you?”

d. Design a food schedule and communicate in groups. And let the student practice the new sentences:…What would you like for lunch?------What do you have for lunch today?

Let the Ss practice the sentences:

e. Boy: -What do you have for lunch today?

Girl: (some food.) What do you have for lunch today?

Boy: (some food.)

(Teaching intention: Presentation of the new lesson)

(3)Group work

According to the schedule to talk about the courses, communicate with each other.

(5)Introduce some festivals such as: Mid-autumn Day-moon cakes; The dragon festival---zongzi; spring festival---dumplings;

(Teaching intention: Make the students know more about the culture of China and the western countries.)
