Ⅰ. Teaching aims :

1.(1) Revise the names of school buildings:

playground, gym, dormitory, lab, computer room, dining hall, classroom building, swimming pool

(2) Learn other new words:

make, card, boring, soon, run, dance, sleep, clean

2. Go on learning the present continuous tense.

What are you doing now? I’m making cards.

What is Maria doing now? She is reading in the library.

Are you watching TV? Yes, I am./No, I’m not.

Is Kangkang reading in the library? Yes, he is./No, he isn’t.

Ⅱ. Teaching Procedures:

Step 1 Review

1. 教师询问学生:下午放学后,在6点这一刻,侨中的学生都有可能在学校的哪些场所?复习校园活动场所的名词。

T: After school, different students may be in different places,right? Where are they at 6:00 in the afternoon?

S1: in the dining hall.

S2: in the dormitory

S3: on the playground.

S4: in the classroom.

Pay attention to the preposition “on”.

2. T: Well, at the same time(e.g. 6:00 p.m.),different students are in different places. And different students are doing different things. Just imagine what your classmates are doing at 6:00 p.m. in different places.

S1: … is having supper in the dining hall.

S2: … and … are cleaning the dormitory.

S3: … is sleeping in the dormitory.

S4: … is listening to music in the dormitory.

S5: … and … are playing basketball on the playground.( … is running on the playround)

Step 2 Presentation

1呈现2a,1a, 完成2b。

(1)T: After school, Maria, Kangkang and their friends are doing different things in different places. Listen and answer the following questions:

(1) Where is Maria? What is she doing?

(2) Where is Kangkang? What is he doing?

(3) Where is Wang Wei? What is he doing?

(2) Check the answers with Ss one by one. Then read 2a after the tape.

(3)(板书新句型,要求学生掌握dance, sleep, clean。)

— Where is Maria? — What is she doing?

— She is in the library. — She is reading.

(4)Retell 2a according to the four pictures .

Maria is reading in the library.

Kangkang is running on the playground.

Wang Li and Li Mei are dancing in the gym.

Wang Wei and Lin Tao are’t sleeping in the dormitory. They are cleaning at the moment. (要求学生用肯定句与否定句复述第四幅图)

2. Pair work.(让学生根据1a,2a的图练习现在进行时。)

S1: Where is Jane?

S2: She is at home.

S1: What is she doing?

S2: She is watching TV.

(让同桌之间进行对话。)

S1: …

S2: …

3. (听录音,学习1a。)

T: From the pictures, we can see they are making a phone call. What are they talking about? Now let’s listen to it.

(听1a的录音)

T: Is Jane doing her homework?

Ss: No, she isn’t.

T: Is Jane watching TV?

Ss: Yes, she is.

(通过对话方式,引导学生掌握现在进行时的一般疑问句,肯定及否定回答的形式,同时学习生词。)

Yes, she is./No, she isn’t.

Step 3 Consolidation

1. (放1a,2a的录音, 让学生跟读, 注意语音和语调。)

T: Please listen to the tape and follow it. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.

2. (人机对话。)

T: Now, listen to me carefully. Suppose you are Jane. Listen to the tape and make a dialog withMichael.

3. (让学生分角色朗读对话。)

T: Very good. Work in groups and read the dialog in roles. I will ask several groups to act it out.

Step 4 Practice

  1. Show half of each picture. Let Ss guess what the people are doing in the picture by using:

(1) Are they v-ing?

Yes, they are .

No, they aren’t. They aren’t v-ing …. They are v-ing

(2) Is he/she v-ing ?

Yes,he/she is.

No, he/she isn’t. He /She isn’t …. He /She is V-ing. 要求学生用完整的肯定句和否定句回答。练习现在进行时的肯定句、否定句和一般疑问句。

  1. Exercise . Finish 2 of Section C. 填空。并用肯定句和否定句描述五幅图片。

3. Listening practice. ( Section D 3) (把Section A,C,D的同类内容进行整合,设计成一节课。)

T: Let’s listen what Jane, Maria, Kangkang and Michael are doing at the same time in different places. And then complete the table.

通过表演和猜测, 培养学生实际运用能力。

(出示一个dance的动作卡片给他/她看。)

Please perform the action.

(学生表演跳舞动作。)

T: What is he/she doing?

Ss: He’s/She’s dancing.

2. (家庭作业。)

(要求同学们下午放学后在同一时间内观察学校的学生,看看他们各自在做什么,并写下来。)

T: I’d like you to watch your classmates after you school. Please write down what he/she is doing.
