Unit 1 How often do you exercise?

1.hardly adv.

He hardly ever eats meat.
Mary is hardly ever late.
2.What do you usually do on weekends?
We go to school at 7∶30 every morning.
John is at home now.
They speak English and French.
The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
3.巧辨although/though和but
(1)although/though
Although/Though he is not rich, he is happy.
=Although/Though he is not rich, yet he is happy.
=He is not rich, but he is happy.
Although/Though he is not rich, but he is happy.)
Because he is ill, he can't go to school.
Because he is ill, so he can't go to school.)
4.She says It's good for my health.
本句中的be good for意思是“对……
Enough exercise is good for health.
而与be good for结构相近的短语be good at则表示“擅长于”,其后接名词或动名词。如:
He is good at maths.
I am good at playing football.
5.pretty,very,really
(1)very多放在冠词a 或an之后。
She is a very good girl.
That's the very thing I've been looking for.
(2)really则放在冠词a或an之前。
She's really a good girl.
She is pretty/quite beautiful.
6.I try to eat a lot of vegetables, usually ten to eleven times a week.
We have a lot to do.
He works a lot at home.
She is a lot cleverer than I am.
Han Meimei likes bananas a lot.
He has a lot of friends.
There is a lot of meat in the shopping basket.
7.I think I'm kind of unhealthy.
I'm not sure why, but I feel kind of sorry for him.
—Is she interested?
—Well, kind of.
