Unit 1 My New Teachers

第一课时

一、 教学内容：PEP第五册　Unit 1 My New Teachers（A Let’ s learn）

本单元是谈论自己的老师，学生在学完该单元后要能够简单的描述自己老师的体貌特征及性格特点，能询问并介绍学校里老师的情况，还要能够听懂一些描述人物特征的简单对话，本课时是该单元的第一课时，主要是单词的学习。

二、教学目标：

1、知识目标

1）听、说、读、写单词old，short，thin，tall，strong，并能在上下文中理解其意。

2）按照指令完成Let’ s find out中的简单任务。

2、能力目标

能听懂问句：Who’ s your art teacher? What’s he like? 并能回答。

3、情感目标：

1)通过对自己老师的描述，增进对老师的了解，建立和谐平等的师生关系。

2)培养学生自主学习能力，激发他们的学习兴趣。

三、学情分析

本节课的授课对象是五年级的学生，这个年龄段的学生已经有了一定的英语基础，学生求知欲强，好表现自己，但少部分学生的学习积极性不够。针对学生的年龄特点和认知特性，在教学中，我用生动的语言材料和灵活多样的教学形式去提高学生的学习兴趣，实现语言技能和学生情感的同步发展。

四、教学重点和难点

教学重点：Let’ s learn部分的单词：old，short，thin，tall，strong，young，funny，kind等。要求学生能听懂句型，并结合这些句子表达的情境，学会恰当地替换句中的单词。逐步学会听、说、读、写单词：old，short，thin，tall，strong。

教学难点：利用所提供的对话和情景，以旧引新，让学生进入学习状态。Let’s start部分在学生用书当中首次出现，教师要帮助学生熟悉教材内容的变化。

五、教具准备：CAI课件、单词卡、学生图片

六、教学过程：

Step 1、Warm-up

１、Greeting and exercise

T: Hello, boys and girls! Welcome back to school!

Ss: Hello, Miss **. Nice to see you again.

T: Nice to see you, too.

2、Let’ s chant

Tall, tall, tall! Make yourself tall.

Big, big, big! Make your eyes big.

Long, long, long! Make your arms long.

Short, short, short! Make yourself short.

Small, small, small! Make your eyes small.

Short, short, short! Make your arms short.

（设计意图：用有节奏感的chant调动学生的学习热情，使学生自然地进入英语学习状态，激发学生交际的愿望。）

Step 2、Revision

(Show a picture)T: Look! This is my friend. he has short hair and small eyes. He is thin. 然后再逐一展示其他的学生图片，让学生用这个句型来形容该同学的长相，复习单词strong, tall, short, thin。

（设计意图：学生对于自己所熟悉的同学更愿意利用已学语言去说，这样不仅吸引了学生的注意力，还创设了英语学习的环境，愉快地复习了已学单词，并为本课时听、说、读、写这些单词做好准备。）

Step 3、Presentation

1、Introduce Sarah and her teachers to the pupils.

T: Look, Sarah and her teachers are coming.(The pupils watch the screen.) After learning this lesson, you can tell me “who is the Sarah’s new teacher?”(布置学习任务)

2、T( Point teachers ): They are Sarah’s teachers. Please describe these teachers.引导学生回答：He/She is tall/strong/short/thin.

3、Learn these words: tall, strong, short, thin.教师先带领学生拼读、书空，再板书单词。

4、Teach the words: young，old, kind, funny.

(Point the old man)T: The teacher is old. Old　old　old! (边读的时候并用体态语表示old),并与单词young进行对比教学。

5、Listen to the tape and follow it.（跟着课件说单词）

6、Listen and answer(完成前面铺垫的学习任务)

T: Mr Hu is the art teacher. What’s he like? He’s short and thin. Who is he?

Students answer together.

7、Let’s say

(Show two pictures)T: Who can describe these teachers?

(设计意图：介绍学生所熟悉的人物，并布置了学习任务：猜一猜谁是Sarah的新老师，让学生带着任务去学习。通过电脑演示和教师体态语，让学生整体感知新单词。教师通过播放课件动画，使学生逐一学习新单词，避免了枯燥的教、说形式，这样吸引了学生的注意，同时也激发了学生的学习动机。)

Step 4、Drills

1、Look and respond

教师手拿单词卡，学生做出相关动作。

2、Look and say

教师手拿单词卡，学生说出该单词。

3、Point and say

教师指课件上的单词，学生快速的说出该单词。

4、Play guessing games

1）T: Look at my mouth and guess which word did I say.（老师说单词，只做口型不说出声，然后学生猜一猜老师说的是哪一个单词。）

2）T: Listen carefully! Guess! Who’s he/she? Then describe the teacher.

（播放学生所熟悉的教师的声音，猜猜他/她是谁，并描述。这样既巩固了重点，又将学生的学习积极性推向高潮。）

5、Teacher asks and student answers quickly

Who’s your Chinese/English/art… teacher?　What’s he/she like?

6、Let’s find out

播放录音，让学生找一找录音里说的是哪一位老师。录音里没有说到的人，让学生自己在小组内描述一下他的长相。

7、copy the words: tall, strong, old, short, thin

(设计意图：教授完新单词后，教师手拿单词卡，在学生面前不断交替呈现，让学生加强记忆，并采用由单词带动句型，给了学生足够的自由交流空间，环节四的设计更让学生学会了运用所学的知识去做事，让学生对英语的学习更有信心。最后教师根据学生本节课学习情况，给予及时评价，延续学生的学习兴趣，使他们获得成就感。)

Step 5、Homework

1 Listen to the tape and read it to your parents or friends.

Describe your teacher.
