Ⅰ.Programmes for the Unit
1.Status and Function
The topic of this unit is about school subjects.Such topic is closely related to the students’ daily life，so it is helpful to raise learning interest of students and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English.
（1）In the first period students will learn some names of their subjects in school.Then they will learn to express which subject is their favorite one.
（2）In the second period students will learn some description words.So they can express why they like or dislike some kinds of subjects.Meanwhile students should be taught they must learn all their subjects well when they are in middle school because all the subjects are very important for them.
（3）Exercises of the workbook can help students strengthen their target languages learnt in section A.
（4）All activities in the fourth period provide students with listening，speaking，reading and writing practice.It can help students improve their integrating skills.
（5）Students practice reading and writing using the target language in the fifth period.It can help students improve their reading and writing skills.
（6）Self check and the exercises of the workbook can test students how they master the key vocabulary and the target language learnt in this unit.Especially by doing Activity 3 students know they must be a good student and study all their subjects well.
