一、概述
1、本节课是人教版七年级下册第二单元《Where’s the post office?》第二课时的教学内容。
2、本课时的主要学习内容:运用表示地点的介词和介词短语进行问路、指路的训练。
3、在本节课中,学生通过PPT展示的语言知识点及口语操练信息,展开多种形式的活动进行交际训练,达到熟练掌握、灵活运用所学知识的效果。并能发挥其想象力和创造性,结合已学知识综合运用英语表达自己的情感。
二、教学目标设计
1、 知识目标
① 进一步掌握方位介词:across from, in front of, next to, between…and…, behind …
② 掌握多种问路、指路的表达法。运用所学句型进行会话。可以就身边熟悉的地点进行自由交谈。

③ 能够阐述各个建筑物之间的位置关系,学会利用地图介绍某些地点。
2、能力目标
① 能够为他人指明去某一场所的路线,学会画线路图。
② 培养学生在实际生活中辨别方向的能力以及向他人介绍处所的能力。
③ 能够设计自己理想的居住环境。
3、 情感目标
通过学习本课时的主要内容,使学生在实际生活中能够辨别方向,并养成乐于助人的好习惯。
三、教学对象分析
1、初二学生对本单元有关问路的句型已经有了初步的了解。但还不熟悉有关指路的句型。例如:
Walk along /go straight / down / up the road and turn left / right.
It’s across from, in front of, next to, between…and…, behind …
It’s down Bridge Street on the right / left.
It’s about fifty meters away.
2、教师将采用“直观呈现”、“自问自答”等方式开展教学。充分发挥小组协作、自由选题的优势,以达到良好的教学效果。
3、并针对学生对游戏、角色扮演等活动有很高的兴趣的特点
展开活动。
四、教学内容设计
1、本课的中心话题是通过运用表示方位的介词和介词短语询问某一场所的位置。其主要内容都是围绕着问路、指路的语言项目展开的。通过本课时的学习,学生不仅要进一步掌握方位介词的用法,并且要学会阐述某一场所中各个建筑物之间的位置关系:同时能够利用地图向他人介绍自己所居住的地区、并能够识别简单的线路图。此内容与学生的实际生活有紧密的联系。
2、重点:
① across from, in front of, next to, between…and…, behind, on the left / right
② Where’s the …? / Which is the way to …? /
How can I get to …? / Can you tell me the way to …?

3、难点:
运用所学的句型和方位介词为他人指明某一场所的路线,设计出自己理想的居住环境。
五、教学策略选择与设计
1、不限制参与活动的对象,训练学生自负其责的自我管理能力。
2、对学生的困难尽快解决。对学生的错误则心中有数,不易当堂纠正,避免以无效的方式对待。否则会挫伤其积极性。
3、有意识地帮助学生形成自主学习的能力。
六、教学资源
1、利用多媒体手段辅助教学,如利用PPT复习已学知识,展示新的语言知识点、提供小组操练的信息、布置作业等。
2、利用学生用硬纸片制作的建筑物的名称布置街道场景,现场操练问路、指路的表达法,以活跃课堂气氛。
七、教学过程
1、利用PPT复习已学知识。
Where’s the cat? Where’s the cat?
She’s in the bucket.(桶) She’s on the chair.
Where’s the boy?
He’s under the tree.
2、展示新的语言知识点: in front of, across from, next to, between…and…, behind, 如图等。
The public telephones are The bank is across from the street.
in front of the park.
3、学生熟悉上列表示地点的介词和介词短语后进入句型:
① Asking the way :
Is there … ?
Where is …?
Which is the way to …?
How can I get to …?
Can you tell me the way to …?
② Giving directions on the street:
Walk along the road and turn left / right.
Just go straight / down / up the street.
It’s across from, in front of, next to, between…and…, behind …
It’s down Bridge Street on the right / left.
It’s about fifty meters away.
4、PPT展示路线图。
POST OFFICE
A. A: Excuse me. Is there a hotel near here?
B: Yes, there is. Walk along this road, and take the first turning on the right. It’s about 300 metres from here. It’s next to No.8 Middle School.
A: Thanks a lot.
B: That’s all right.
B. A: Excuse me. Where is the park?
B: Oh, the nearest is about six kilometers away. You’d better catch a bus.
A: Which bus do I need?
B: I think you need a number 2 bus. The bus stop is along that road, on the right.

B: I’m sorry I can’t help you. Please ask that woman.

5、利用学生用硬纸片制作的建筑物的名称布置街道场景,现场操练问路、指路的表达法。
6、小组操练。四人为一个小组。2个人画图,一人扮演警察,一人扮演问路者。即可以运用PPT提供的信息编对话。也可以自行创设情景,自选词汇。
A . Models:
① A: Excuse me. Is there a hotel near here?
B: Yes, there is. Walk along this road, and take the second turning on the right. It’s about fifty metres along on the left.
A: Thanks a lot.
B: That’s all right.
② A: Excuse me. Is there a park near here?
B: No, there isn’t. The nearest is about six kilometers away. You’d better catch a bus.
A: Which bus do I need?
B: I think you need a number 38 bus. The bus stop is along that road, on the left.
③ A: Excuse me. Can you tell me the way to …?
B: Of course. Go down the street and turn left. It’s about 100 meters away.
