The first period

I Teaching aims and demands

1、 Knowledge objects:

<1> Key vocabulary: take the subway, ride a bike, take the bus, take the train, walk, take a taxi, go in a parent’s car

<2> Target language: How do you get to school? I ride my bike.

2、 Ability objects:

Train Ss’ listening speaking writing reading skills.

3、 Moral objects: Train Ss’ communicative competence.

II Key points: key vocabulary and target language.

III Teaching Aids: cards, pictures, tape recorder and so on.

IV Teaching procedures:

Step I Greetings and warming up

1. Greet Ss. as usual.

2. Ask Ss.: How do you get to school? (Ss. can answer Qs. in Chinese.)

Step II Presentation

1. Vocabulary: T writes down the words which Ss. said on the Bb. Then teach Ss. to read the words until Ss. read the words accurately.

2. Ask Ss. “how do you get to school?” Ss. answer by “ I take … to school.” Then T teach Ss. to read sentence.

3. Listening activity(1b)

T plays the tape recording twice. First, ask Ss. just listen. Secondly, write down the answers

Step III Practice

Ask Ss. to make their conversations and show at the front.

Step IV Consolidation

Ask Ss. to make conversations (use the knowledge they learned before) and show at the front.

Step V Summary and Homework

1. In this class, we’ve learned ask others “how do you get to school?” and “how does … get to school?”

2. After class, make your conversations and write on your notebooks.
